Hidden among the old Newfoundland fishing villages of the Avalon Peninsula's Southern Shore, The Captain's Table Restaurant remains one of Canada's best kept secrets.
Celebrating the delicious enjoyment of fresh seafood provided daily from the bounty of the cold, North Atlantic ocean, the friendly crew of the Captain's Table take great pride in making each meal a memorable one.
The Captain's Table Restaurant commemorates and is guided by the principles of one of the greatest men that ever lived, Captain William Jackman. Renowned as a "Legendary Canadian Hero," Captain William Jackman saved 27 people from a shipwreck off the coast of Labrador during a storm of "hurricane proportions" in 1867. Swimming back and forth from ship to shore a total of 28 times, Captain William delivered each person to safety. We extend an open invitation, all year long, for you to visit us and experience our famous Newfoundland hospitality first-hand.

The Captain's Table Restaurant received its name in honor of Newfoundland's greatest hero, Captain William Jackman, the great grandfather of the co-owner and Head Chef, Arthur Jackman.
Officially opened on the 17 July, 1987, The Captain's Table Restaurant has always been a successful family business. The secret is simple: Art's fine cooking skills combined with Phyllis's professional customer service.
Phyllis, Art's wife, is also a co-owner and has been Head Server and Hostess since the very beginning. Lisa, their daughter, started as a server and has now worked her way up to personnel manager.
