Designated a Canada Select 5 Star Inn, and selected for membership in Select Registry of Prestigious Inns of North America, this boutique hotel and spa holds a special connection to the Titanic. Ryan Mansion is also known in luxury accommodation circles as a remarkable merger of elegance and historic preservation.

Celebrating 100 years this year, Ryan Mansion holds three connections to the famed and ill-fated Titanic. When you reach the middle landing of the Ryan Mansion staircase there stands a 10 foot high beveled Waterford glass window. If you were to walk through the window It is lined up directly where the Titanic rests. When Dr. Robert Ballard (who discovered the Titanic in 1985 ) stayed at Ryan Mansion he gave us the exact coordinates and the straight line distance from the staircase tp the ship! Remarkable history in this boutique hotel!

The explorer himself, Dr. Robert Ballard calls Ryan Mansion, "Another great discovery!", having visited the property and observed the careful preservation and authenticity of artifact and architecture throughout the building.

Located centrally, Ryan Mansion is centered in the affluent heritage district and ideally located in the heart of old downtown St. John's; only minutes walk to restaurants, entertainment, museums, galleries, and more. At Ryan Mansion, you can capture the Spirit of the Titanic where you'll find our Grand Staircase centering the dramatic Entrance Reception Hall.

A commissioned masterpiece custom designed for the highly anticipated mansion home of James Ryan, this staircase was built in the same style and by the very same craftsmen who fitted the Grand Staircase on the Titanic! Built during the same two year period (1909-1911) as the Titanic, with nothing spared, Ryan Mansion echoes the opulence and grandeur of both a bygone era as well as the World's Finest Liner, the Titanic. As a guest of Ryan Mansion you get to relive this splendour while witnessing great history and marveling in our unique Titanic connection.

Centered in historic downtown St. John's and in the very affluent heritage district of Rennies Mill Road, Ryan Mansion is perfectly situated directly across from beautiful Bannerman Park and within a short stroll to many of the major St. John’s tourist attractions including the Basilica of St. John the Baptist and The Rooms. Ideally positioned with all of the major downtown hotels including Sheraton, Marriott, and Delta St. Johns, this intimate boutique hotel, Ryan Mansion, is your five star alternative to the usual corporate hotels when traveling for business, conferences/conventions, and meaningful vacations.

Even though The House is nearing 100 years, it surprisingly has had very few owners. Built by James Ryan during the period between 1909 and 1911, the House was inherited by his son Herbert. The newest owners moved in in April 2012 and the original owners are unknown.

In recent years, this property has hosted visits by senior members of the Royal Family, to great acclaim:

"You could not have taken better care of myself and my wife" - His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales.

"I would have to give Ryan Mansion a 10 out of 10" - Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall
