Serving as Coastal Connections' flagship vessel, the Explorer is used for hands-on nature tours and experiential learning programs in Newman Sound, Terra Nova National Park.

Much more than just a boat tour, guests learn about this magnificent place, participate in hands-on activities, and view the wonders of our natural environment...in the sky, on the land, and particularly, in the sea. We bring aboard whelk pots, crab pots, lobster pot to get you involved as well we have an ROV on board so you can dive without getting wet!

About the Vessel

On board the fully equipped, 13-m (42-ft) Coast Guard-certified, and astonishingly comfortable "MV Coastal Explorer," you will share in captivating scientific data collection, enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the area, and realize that learning (at any age) can truly be fun!

Seasons Open and Departure : April–November. We accommodate school groups for our education programs.

Length of Tour: 3.5 hours. We also have specialized tours.

Appropriate Age Groups: 0-100

How to Find the Departure Point

We are located at the visitor centre in Terra Nova National Park. We are located in the kiosk closet to the beautiful view of Newman Sound.
