Our schedule is such that we do not get much time off but when we do your location is top of our destination list. – Wish we were there now.

kazuyo wrote on April 03, 2012: Hi,Bruce. I'm Kazuyo from Japan. I really wanna visit Admiral's Adventure B&B again.

Jonathan Laroche wrote on March 11, 2012: This place is the place to relax, enjoy great company, see beautiful views, but most of all to enjoy life at it's purest! THANKS BRUCE!

Verena, Germany wrote on March 07, 2012: Brigitte - the friend I was travelling with - and I found Admirals Adventure 2007 by coincidence, while we were doing a traineeship in St. Johns Hospital, because some other trainees did a much better research were to stay in St. Johns than we did... At Admiral's Adventure B&B! So we met Bruce and his absolutely wonderful place initially only as visitors and not as guests. But we had some great evenings together and so we decided to come back to stay with Bruce ourselves for a few days after we finished the traineeship and our traveling around Newfoundland. And it was wonderful! Not only the place itself - which is fantastic - but in combination with Bruce as a host it's the best you can get for an unforgettable adventure! And don't miss to ask Bruce for a dance - he's a superb dancer! Bruce: how long did your goldfish Brigitte and Verena live? ;o)

Barry & June Marshall, Truro, Nova Scotia wrote on March 06, 2012: Ahh...what a beautiful way to wake up with the aroma of fresh sea salt air ticking at your nostrils. As you peer out the window at the magnificent million dollar view of the St.John's Harbor awaiting your challenges for the day's activity. From the kitchen we can hear the preparation of delicious Newfoundland home style cooking being looked after by our wonderful host Captain Bruce. If you like the sea you will love the amazing waterfront and boating facilities available so close to this fantastic accommodation.Having all these amenities so close is a treat in itself. Not only the does the location provide it's own entertainment but it's proximity to the local downtown core it assume. Yes, we totally enjoyed our stay at this amazing "piece of heaven and history " all rolled into one. Thanks again Captain Bruce for your Hospitality for sharing your HOME with us.

Bruce and Nis wrote on March 06, 2012: My wife and I stayed at Bruce's Bed and Breakfast in June 2006 while we were attending a scientific conference in St. John's. I had come all the way from the Brazilian Amazon where I was studying (I'm originally from Vancouver, B.C.) and my long distance girlfriend (originally from Manaus, Amazonas State, Brazil) came in from Germany where she was doing her doctorate. I asked Nis to marry me at a rock overlooking Pouch Cove and we had our engagement celebration on the dock at Admiral's Adventure B&B with Bruce and a few other couples present. Bruce was absolutely golden with us and made our stay unforgettable. Thanks again for everything Bruce.

Christine from Amos, QUÉBEC wrote on March 06, 2012: I found this place as I was WWOOFING around NewFoundland and I still think about how great this place is and how the captain Bruce knows how to host. It was in the winter, seals were passing by almost every morning...I could see them by the room's window as I was waking up. Working in this house has been an amazing time. I will always remember the rock and the water running into it in the middle of the living room and the famous and beautiful kitchen. Still dream about that view while making wine and cooking lobsters! If you go in february, take care, St-John's might receive 3 feet of snow and you'll have to dig forever to get out of his house!!! Great memory! And the Captain, not only a good host, what a GREAT DANCER!!! Luv

Michelle and Don wrote on March 05, 2012: Don and I visited Bruce at Admiral's Adventure and what an Adventure it was! Part of the actual rock from Signal Hill is in the living room, bedrooms that look out to the narrows of St. John's Harbour and a deck that allows you to sit out and enjoy the St. John's skyline as well as the harbour traffic. Admiral's B & B is rustic, warm, and friendly just like it's Captain, Bruce Peters.

Danny Doiron wrote on March 05, 2012: Good on Ya Bruce. I read the article and the comments. After being at your place on a couple of different occasions and enjoying the scenery and your hospitality I am not surprised by the positive feedback. Truely a unique spot with a million dollar view. I wouldn't hestitate to recommend it. Good luck.

Jan and Rick Klooster wrote on March 05, 2012: We stayed at Admirals Adventure in 2006 and loved it! It is quaint and unique, perched on the cliffs of St. John's harbour within walking distance of windblown Signal Hill trails, winding Old Battery streets, and the artsy downtown shops. The rooms are tiny havens of rustic charm, and host Captain Bruce is a gem. We met interesting people from all over the world, ate hearty breakfasts in a gorgeous wooden "galley," and drank toasts on the dock thick with fog. It truly was a precious experience - we smile every time we think of it and have been recommending Admiral's Adventure B&B to all of our friends going to St. John's.

Ann Marie Barry wrote on March 04, 2012: I have visited the Admiral's Adventure several times and agree that it has a great view of St. John's. With its unique layout and design, it resembles living on a boat; the walls are in natural wood and there is not an inch of wasted space anywhere. The Admiral's Adventure B&B is interesting because of its marine style character and its location perched on the rocky shores of St John's harbour. Congratulations, Bruce!

Carolyn Strong Molson, Ottawa wrote on March 04, 2012: Six years ago I was returning to my roots and had this "burning desire" to wake up to this view of the Narrows and St. John’s harbour. When I could have stayed with friends or relatives, I chose the Admiral's B&B for the location, so I could spend as much time as I needed to "reconnect". I was greeted and treated like family. Thanks, Bruce, for making mine a very memorable visit. I will be back.

Mabel and Aidan from Kelowna, British Columbia wrote on March 04, 2012: A few years ago we stayed with Bruce while we hosted our daughter's wedding in St John's. There were many out of town guests attending the wedding events. Bruce had been invited to and was attending a wine and cheese reception we hosted the evening before the wedding. Unbeknownst to us it appeared that the wine supply was getting low. Bruce had noticed this . By the time we noticed the coming wine shortage, Bruce had taken the initiative and came through the door with a back up wine supply. This saved the day and furthermore Bruce would not accept payment for the extra wine, saying it was his gift to the bride/groom. Bruce will likely not be happy with this revelation as it might put the pressure on him to similarly save the day for other such events. Thanks once again Bruce.

John Christie wrote on March 04, 2012: My wife, Debbie, and I have travelled all over Europe, Britain and Canada staying mostly in B&Bs. We stayed with Captain Bruce in 1907 and it is still by far our favourite B&B experience. We enjoyed our three nights so much that we almost changed all our vacation plans so that we could stay longer. I felt so at home that I picked up a paint brush and helped paint the stairs. We will be back one day.

KATE RYAN wrote on March 04, 2012: Congratulations Bruce - I'm not surprised - well deserved! best holiday i have had in the 10 years i have been back living in Toronto from New Zealand ... magical:) often think of the fun and great food we had - never forget it - is it really 5 years? carry on with the good work, big hug, Kate Ryan

Claire (Ireland) wrote on March 04, 2012: Admirals Adventure is one of my best memories from travelling around Canada. St. Johns itself is a great city with great people, and in Admirals Adventure, perched on the rocks by the harbour, you could not get a better location point from which to enjoy it all. Bruce is a true gentleman, who knows how to make guests feel at home and truly feel a part of the city, from the delicious Lobster dinner to a few lessons in playing the spoons, I will return some day!!

Dermot and Claire wrote on March 04, 2012: If any place deserved to be here, its Admiral’s Adventure. The place itself is amazing!! It is like being on-board a ship (minus the sickness) Waking up each morning to the most fantastic views, watching and waiting to see what vessel the pilot boat will navigate up through the narrows and just a few steps from downtown and beautiful trails!! As for the host, well Captain Bruce Peters is a gentleman. A charming individual who naturally extends a warm welcome to all his guests. Be in his company for a few minutes and you will feel like you have known him all your life. His stories are captivating, his generosity knows no end and his beer is very tasty!!! ;) The people you will meet at this unique setting will be as fabulous as the experience. The memories you take home with you will be good ones!!

Jeremy and Barbara Hooley wrote on March 03, 2012: Congratulations Bruce! It’s a long, long way from Cape Town but who knows....maybe one day ?

Amy McGrannachan wrote on March 03, 2012: I had the pleasure of staying with Bruce at the unique and very charming Admirals Adventure B&B. I am from New Zealand and this place holds a very special place in my heart with some wonderful memories for me and many other wwoofers. I felt like a true local by the time I departed St John’s especially after Bruce's very own Admiral Adventure's Screeching In ceremony. Admirals Adventure and meeting Bruce Peters is an experience you will never forget.

Alessandro Schneider wrote on March 03, 2012: It seems to be a wonderful place! Wish I got go there someday!

Tina Potter wrote on March 03, 2012: Wow what a coincidence,I was reminiscing about Admirals Adventure only a few days ago. This is a truly unique place, perched as it is on the edge of the rock it feels almost as though you are part of the rock itself with views to die for and an owner worth a visit in his own right. I stayed here in 2008 and would love to return. Highly recommended for someone looking for unique character and to understand a little about St Johns harbour.

Ed Webb wrote on March 03, 2012: I have heard many stories about seeing whales and seals, sounds like a great place to vacation, enjoy.
